Status Tracking

Each step of the corrective/preventive action should be tracked for its progress. While there are usually no timeline requirements for completion, laboratories may want to determine criteria for turnaround times for various types of non-conformities. Consult your laboratory's policy.
Manual status tracking can be accomplished using spreadsheets or desktop databases.
Electronic programs should ideally generate various reports, one of which would enable status updates and automatic reminders.
