Scenario: The Underperforming Employee - Discussion

Preventing discrimination means treating all employees equally, regardless of race, color, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, and other protected categories. Your company’s policies must apply equally to all employees. It is discriminatory to pursue—or not pursue—the appropriate action because of an employee’s membership in or identification as a minority.
Remind James of your company’s policy on attendance and phone usage during work hours. Tell him that it applies equally to all employees. Check Jordan’s timesheet and observe his phone use to ensure you are treating Jordan the same as James.
