Assessing Workplace Diversity

Assessment of diversity in the workplace can be a useful tool to gauge how current employees feel about a facility's diversity program and provide insightful information on how to improve diversity measures. Using employee satisfaction surveys is one mechanism for collecting employee input about diversity, equity, and inclusion. Typically, surveys are inexpensive and a convenient way to engage employees in providing their input. Survey results can help a management team pinpoint which challenges and barriers to diversity exist within your healthcare workplace and which strategies need to be added or revised.

After an assessment is made and areas of diversity improvement have been identified, using a similar survey tool can reassess the effectiveness of the facility's changes. The ultimate goal being an overall realization in the diversified employee workforce.
