Locating the Thyroid Gland

The thyroid gland is fairly easy to locate by gently palpating the neck on either side of the voice box or larynx. Physicians will often palpate the thyroid during medical visits to check for evidence of inflammation, nodules, or tumors. Each of these findings will be discussed in greater detail.
