  • Since these recommendations have been adopted by many groups, including the College of American Pathologists and the Centers for Disease Control, we will be using them as our criteria for differentiating between bands and segs.
  • This definition was first reported by the Committee for Clarification of the Nomenclature of Cells and Diseases of the Blood and Blood Forming Organs, in the American Journal of Clinical Pathology (18:443-450, 1948).
