Packaging and Shipping Infectious Substances

Safety is the main focus of all organizations that are responsible for packaging and shipping infectious substances. Protecting all persons involved in the process and protecting the environment are primary concerns that have prompted these specific requirements for training, packaging, and shipping materials that may be mildly to highly infectious. Protecting the integrity of the specimen is also a concern to the shipper so that accurate test results are obtained.
This course will discuss the classifications of infectious (Division 6.2) materials and how to properly pack and label these materials.
A certificate will be provided upon successful completion of the exam that must be maintained as evidence of training if you are shipping Category A infectious substances. You may also choose to attend a live, hands-on training course as further assurance of comprehensive training. However, this course provides all the required information that is needed to correctly package, label, and ship infectious materials.
