Designing an Event

The event should be relevant to the laboratory setting. It should be based on existing policies and procedures or designed to test new ones.
The type of test used should be based on the need to include staff interactions, resources available, or be part of a city- or region-wide event.
The stage should be set by advising of any relevant facts, such as:
  • The weather
  • The time of day
  • The day of the week
  • Large events occurring in the area, such as a football game, parade, or art fair
Events should occur in a sequential manner until the event comes to a positive close.
There are sample events that could be used in the laboratory at the end of this section.
