MediaLab's advisory board consists of experienced clinical laboratory professionals from a wide variety of disciplines and backgrounds. Advisory board members work with us to ensure that MediaLab and LabCE's courses are accurate and up-to-date, guide the development of new courses, and help our programs to better meet the needs of all clinical laboratories and medical technologists.

Suzanne Butch, MA, MT(ASCP)SBB, CQA(ASQ)

Administrative Manager for Healthcare, Blood Bank & Transfusion Service, University of Michigan

Suzanne H. Butch, MA, MT(ASCP)SBB, received her Bachelors in Medical Technology from the University of Michigan in 1970 and her Specialist in Blood Bank in 1976. She is currently the Administrative Manager for Healthcare, Blood Bank & Transfusion Service at the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers in Ann Arbor, Michigan and serves in numerous positions of leadership with AABB, Michigan Association of Blood Banks, International Society for Blood Transfusion, American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science, CLSI, AMT, and more. Her extensive history of publications, invited lectures, and workshops has made her a sought-after expert in her field.

Barbara Cebulski, MSIT, MLS(ASCP)CM

Program Director, MediaLab, Inc.

Barbara Cebulski, MSIT, MLS (ASCP)CM is a Program Director for MediaLab, Inc., responsible for the development of continuing education and competency assessment courses for laboratory professionals. Prior to 2007, Ms. Cebulski was an Inspection Specialist in the Laboratory Accreditation Program for the College of American Pathologists (CAP). During this time, she also presented on behalf of CAP at Inspector Training seminars and Point-of-Care Group conferences. In her career as a medical technologist, she has held management and supervisory positions where she created and implemented competency assessment programs. Barbara holds a Masters degree in Instructional Design and Technology from Georgia State University.

Mary Ertl Dettmann, MA, CLS, MT(ASCP) is the education supervisor for Wheaton Franciscan Laboratory in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Health Care Administration from Central Michigan University. Paul Fekete, MD, FCAP is the President and CEO of MediaLab, Inc. He received his MD from Ohio State University and completed his clinical pathology residency at Emory University in Atlanta. He has served as an Assistant Professor of Pathology at Emory and as the Director of Laboratories for Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville, GA. He is currently President of Gwinnett Pathology Associates PC, Gwinnett Medical Center. Dr. Fekete is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and a Fellow of the College of American Pathologists.

Kevin F. Foley, PhD, MT, SC

Kevin Foley, PhD, MT, SC has taught pharmacology, clinical chemistry, immunology and medicinal chemistry courses. Elmer Koneman, MD

Professor Emeritus, University of Colorado School of Medicine

Elmer W.Koneman, MD, received his graduate degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine at Denver, Colorado and is currently Professor Emeritus at their Department of Pathology. He is the author of numerous journal articles and books, including Color Atlas and Textbook of Diagnostic Microbiology, Fifth Edition, 1997(Lippincott) and is presently affiliated with Instructional Design Consultants, a consulting firm specializing in interactive training and distance learning for clinical microbiology.

Garland E. Pendergraph, PhD, JD, MLS(ASCP)SM, HCLD/CC(ABB)

Laboratory Director & Director of Laboratory Operations, Quest Diagnostics-Valdosta RRL

Dr. Pendergraph is the laboratory director for Quest Diagnostics in Valdosta, GA and Miller County Hospital in Colquitt, GA. Dr. Pendergraph received his MSPH from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, his PhD in medical parasitology and mycology from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and his law degree with a concentration in health care law from Concord Law School, Kaplan University. He also did a Fellowship in Tropical Medicine at Louisiana State University School of Medicine. He is the author of a textbook in phlebotomy, a number of scientific articles, plus internet training programs. Dr. Pendergraph serves on the advisory committee for medical technology program at Thomas University. He is licensed as a laboratory director in the States of Georgia and Florida.
