Training and Record Retention

What Records Must Be Maintained?

Training records must include:

  • Employee name
  • Most recent date trained
  • Description of training
  • Description, copy, or location of training materials
  • Name and address of trainer

These records must be maintained throughout employment and 90 days thereafter, according to the US Department of Transportation (DOT).

IATA and some laboratory regulatory agencies, including the College of American Pathologists (CAP), require repeat of training every two years. DOT requires training every three years.

You will be able to print a certificate when you have completed this course that will certify your completion of training for packaging and shipping Division 6.2 (infectious) materials.
