Monitored collection

For monitored collections, the Department of Transportation classifies the following as health professionals:

  1. Physician
  2. Medical Technologist
  3. Medical Laboratory Technician
  4. Nurse (RN/LPN)
  5. Physician's Assistant/Nurse Practitioner
  6. Medical Technician (A medical technician is anyone who is licensed or certified to practice in the institution where the collection is being done. For example, a phlebotomist, EMT, or medical assistant.)
