Observed collection

The collector may serve as the observer only if the collector is the same gender as the donor. If not, the collector must call upon another individual who is the same gender as the donor to act as the observer. The observer does not have to be a qualified collector, but it is the responsibility of the collector to instruct the observer as to the procedures that must be followed. If the observer is not the collector, the observer must not accept the specimen after observing its collection but must make sure that the donor delivers the specimen to the collector.
