Finger stick - Finger stick collections

  • A finger-stick collection is performed by piercing the fingertip with a safety Lancet, which controls the depth of incision, and collecting capillary blood. The BD Microtainerâ„¢ Brand Safety Flow Lancet is shown here.
  • Finger-sticks should not be performed on children under one year of age.
