Light blue top tubes

  • These tubes contain the anticoagulant sodium citrate.
  • They are used mostly for coagulation (clotting) studies.
  • They must be completely filled to assure proper ratio of anticoagulant to blood.
  • They must be inverted immediately after filling to prevent clotting.
