Introduction to OSHA

The Exposure Control Plan

  • Employers must develop and implement an exposure control plan to protect employees from exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
  • This is a document that explains how the employer will implement the OSHA standard.
  • It also specifies what to do if an exposure occurs.
  • The Exposure Control Plan must include an Exposure Determination which lists jobs that will or may subject workers to occupational exposures.
