Work Practice controls specify how to perform a task. Wherever there is a risk of exposure, they forbid:

  • smoking
  • eating or drinking
  • applying cosmetics or lip balm
  • handling contact lenses
  • mouth pipetting
  • food and drink in specimen refrigerators
