MediaLab is a leading publisher of online continuing education courses and competency assessments. Our online products are used at more than 2,000 laboratories and university CLS programs worldwide.
MediaLab's success comes from our talented authors, who write and review our continuing education and competency assessment courses for laboratory professionals. We are in need of more authors and reviewers for new courses. Authors and reviewers gain resume-boosting publishing experience and earn monetary honorariums for their participation.
If you're interested in working with MediaLab as an author or reviewer, please complete our author information form, or read on for more details. We also have programs available for laboratory consultants and organizations / individuals with their own online or computer-based content.
Courses developed by MediaLab are featured on our websites MediaLabInc.net and LabCE.com. Questions from these courses also become part of the LabCE.com Quiz Game, with over 1,000 daily players. Authors and reviewers may also contribute to other online programs that we develop on behalf of major laboratory partners.

We especially need authors for courses in blood banking, chemistry, and molecular diagnostics. However, we publish course on a wide range of clinical laboratory science topics, including safety, compliance, microbiology, hematology, quality control, body fluids, and more. Feel free to suggest a topic on our author information form.
Authors can take advantage of MediaLab's online CourseBuilder to write courses anytime, anywhere. CourseBuilder is easy to use, with an intuitive interface similar to Microsoft Word or PowerPoint. Authors can quickly create content pages, practice questions, and exam questions, and upload relevant images.
For a one-hour continuing education course, an author will provide about 40 to 60 content pages (around one or two paragraphs per page) and 10 to 15 ungraded practice questions, as well as 15 to 20 graded questions for the concluding exam portion of the course. Authors creating courses with content-specific images (such as micrographs, slides, organism images, etc.) will need to provide MediaLab with these images, as well as a non-exclusive license to use these images in conjunction with our courses on MediaLabInc.net, LabCE.com, and the LabCE.com Quiz Game. Our staff is available to assist with other images, such as generic lab views, charts, and graphs. More information about copyright requirements is available after completing our author information form.
No travel is required. All communication occurs through telephone and e-mail. MediaLab works with authors and reviewers throughout the United States and Canada.
If you already publish your own online courses or operate as a consultant for the laboratory industry, MediaLab has some unique programs available for you to reach a larger audience.
